Can you believe February is more than half way over already? Even crazier to us is that Eli is 5 months! I don't think that I have been good at updating Eli's stats every time he goes in for a doctor's visit, so this is a little late, but Eli slimmed down from his 2 month appt compared to his 4 month. He was 26.75 inches long and 16lbs 8oz. He was still in the 90th percentile for height, but for weight he dropped to 75th. Head size is still in the 50th percentile.
Last Friday was a big day for Eli. He tried solids for the first time and got his first haircut!
Getting ready for the adventure...
The first bite....
Mmmm... rice cereal!
It took Eli a couple feedings to get the hang of the swallowing as you can see from the picture. He is doing great now and gets a little upset when it is all gone!. We tried green beans yesterday, and just like his Mommy he doesn't like them! ha ha after about 3 bites he had had enough and was arching his back and getting mad.
It was so hard trying to give Eli a haircut. He just wanted to look up at me to see what I was doing! I was kind of sad to cut off his hair, but he had so much hair on top that it looked like he was wearing a toupee.
Last week Eli and I headed downtown again with our friends, Francie and Trenton, to finish seeing the Museum of Science and Industry.
Their genetics exhibit was pretty cool. We watched a little chick trying to break free from his egg. All of the eggs around him would hatch within 24 hours. Made me a little sad to see him coming into the world without a mother in sight.
The train exhibit...
Francie, Trenton and us in the farmland. Did you know that a typical milk cow will produce around 148 pounds (18 gallons) of manure a day?
In a vortex!
Saturday Grant and I celebrated Valentine's by going out to TGIFriday's.
Eli smiles so much, but as soon as the camera flashes he gets this serious stunned face.
Here are just a few other pictures of Eli over the past couple weeks.
A curly mohawk
This picture reminds me of a picture of me. I think I was a little older but I had pigtails and this same face. I will have to find the picture and post it next time.
Eli was abnormally sad earlier in the week and learned how to really use his lungs! Thank goodness the sadness only lasted a couple days before he was back to his normal self! When I came home from the gym one night I found my boys in reading a book.
Eli and his friend Trenton. Hopefully Eli will be sitting up soon too!

He is growing up! Hair cut, solids, and possibly a tooth, maybe soon? Crazy
